Practical course in Biology

The course is designed to provide work experience at a workplace where biology knowledge is useful. Students have the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in their previous studies, and find out how biology-related work is organised and performed at a company or a public agency. The placement and field mentor must meet the approval of Karlstad University prior to the placement period. The course comprises the following components: \- eight to nine weeks at the workplace, including the completion of an independent task in which biology knowledge is applied \- continuous documentation of the work practice in a journal, describing reflectively tasks and what happens at the workplace with reference to relevant literature such as steering documents, reports, and investigations in the area \- a week in which the work performed at the practical placement workplace is compiled for written and oral presentation.
