Overview
Kursen behandlar förebyggande socialt arbete som ett mångtydigt begrepp och omstritt fält, vars innebörd formas i spänningsfältet mellan teori, politik, styrning och praktik. Utgångspunkten är att förebyggande inte kan förstås som ett entydigt eller givet fenomen, utan fylls med olika betydelser beroende på verksamhetsfält, problemformuleringar och samhälleliga kontexter. Sociala och samhällsteoretiska perspektiv används för att analysera hur förebyggande arbete motiveras, organiseras och praktiseras. Särskild vikt läggs vid relationen mellan förebyggande ambitioner, demokratiska värden och social rättvisa.

För att vara behörig till kursen krävs socionomexamen omfattande 210 högskolepoäng, alternativt kandidatexamen i socialt arbete omfattande 180 högskolepoäng eller kandidatexamen i annat näraliggande område.
