Overview
The conditions of mankind have always been dependent on our ability to use materials in the world around, such as corresponding to ages of featured materials: stone, bronze, steel- and semiconductor materials. The course treats advanced engineering and functional materials developed in present times and those with a potential for future applications. The students are working with course lectures and assignments in parallel, where the students will acquire knowledge in advanced materials mechanics and structure, as well as skills in the evaluation of their properties. A larger assignment is performed in a study group, and is accounted for by written reports and oral presentations.
Admission scores
Entry requirements
Registered for Materials in industrial applications (7.5 credits), Deformation and failure (7.5 credits), and Polymer engineering (7.5 credits). Upper secondary level English 6 or English level 2. An equivalence assessment can be made.
