Kursen ger dig en bred introduktion till ämnet psykologi, dess olika områden och inriktningar. Du får en grundläggande orientering när det gäller centrala psykologiska teorier och begrepp och lär dig att förstå de olika färdigheter och anlag som människor har för att tänka, känna och agera. Du skaffar kunskaper om människans utveckling under hela livet. Du lär dig om olika kognitiva och neurobiologiska processer som styr medvetande, perception, minne och problemlösning. Vidare kommer du att skaffa dig kunskaper om socialt tänkande, social påverkan och sociala relationer. Kursen tar också upp grundläggande psykologisk forskningsmetodik.
