Qualifying Education in Swedish: Academic and professional language use

<p>This course is in the second application round, intended for Nordic and EU/EEA citizens or long-term residents.</p><p>This&nbsp;course is part of a selection of courses with the aim to make students eligible and prepare them for university studies with Swedish as the language of instruction. To take this course you need to already know Swedish at the B2 level (CEFR). It finishes at the C1 level.&nbsp;</p><p>Each course is applied for separately, and you choose what courses you apply for based on your previous knowledge of Swedish.&nbsp;</p><p>This course is intended to be studied in conjunction with:</p><p>Intensive Introductory Course in Swedish (requires A1 level Swedish according to the CEFR-scale when you start).</p><p>Qualifying Course in Swedish (requires A2 level Swedish according to the CEFR-scale when you start).</p><p>Suggestion on how to apply:</p><p>Apply for Intensive Introductory Course in Swedish and Qualifying Course in Swedish for your first semester of studies. While you are studying your first semester, you apply for Qualifying Course in Swedish: academic and professional language.&nbsp;</p><p>The Intensive introductory course in Swedish starts at the beginning of August, autumn semester, or in the beginning of January, spring semester.</p><p>If you apply for theIntensive Introductory Course in Swedish and the Qualifying Course in Swedish the same semester, you need to pass the Intensive Introductory Course to continue to the Qualifying Course in Swedish.</p><p>If you apply direct for the Qualifying Course: academic and professional language you must pass an entrance test to show B2 level (CEFR). The entrance test consists of two parts – one oral exam and one writing exam. You must pass both parts to be qualified to study the Qualifying Course: academic and professional language. The test is done in December or in May every term. The oral exam is done at distance in Zoom and the other part at Campus Valla, Linköping, for one day.&nbsp;</p><p>It is an intensive full-time course. During the second semester students should acquire an academic and professional knowledge of Swedish as well as gaining familiarity with Swedish society and the Swedish educational system.
