Kursen syftar dels till att ge en insikt i hur självskattningsinstrument utformas och används. De inslag som tas upp är riktlinjer för granskning av frågor och svarsalternativ, utprövning samt analys av kvalitet i data erhållna genom självskattningsinstrument. Kursen syftar också till att ge kunskap om statistiska metoder som används för att analysera erhållna data. Kursen tar även upp kvantitativ forskningsmetodik i allmänhet med fokus på så väl icke-experimentell som experimentell design.
