Overview

Real-time optical sensors that can characterize and monitor different mediums and environments have revolutionized the way we can analyse environmental systems. Integration of such sensors can have great applicability in systems monitoring (e.g. to examine growth of forests and agriculture production or monitor pollution in water or air), material characterization (e.g. determine important fuel properties and enable effective material sorting) or process control (aimed at e.g. reduced environmental impact of different type of industries such as energy, pharmaceutical, food etc.). If you are curious to learn how to extract information from real-time sensors, applied to address real industrial and environmental challenges, this course is for you. You will learn how to extract and interpret complex information from real-time sensors using a variety of mathematical tools - making use of AI and machine learning algorithms. If you want to aid society in achieving sustainable development, knowledge about real-time analysis can give you powerful analytical tools to help deal with the world´s largest environmental problems.
