Overview
Kursens övergripande tematik är religioners uttryck i myter, symboler och riter samt hur olika media och andra sociala kommunikationsformer genom historien format de sätt som religion uttrycks på. Under kursen behandlas centrala religionsvetenskapliga perspektiv på myter, symboler och riter för att belysa deras betydelse och funktion för såväl religiösa grupper som för individer. Relaterat till detta studeras hur förändringar i det mediala landskapet har påverkat och påverkar religioner, liksom hur man kan förhålla sig till media i studiet av religion och undervisningspraktik. Under kursen introduceras också religionspsykologisk teoribildning och hur man utifrån den kan förstå religioners och religiösa praktikers betydelse för människor.

För tillträde till kursen krävs godkänt resultat på minst 30 högskolepoäng från Religionskunskap 1 och 2 för gymnasielärare (LGRE10 och LGRE20), varav minst 5 högskolepoäng från LGRE20, eller motsvarande kunskaper.
