Overview
Romance utgör idag en stor och viktig del inom populärlitteraturen. Kursen vill ge en bred ingång till genren genom att dels läsa och jämföra romance från tre olika decennier, dels placera romance i en populärlitterär tradition. Kursen startar med de klassiska romaner från 1800-talet som ofta lyfts fram som början på genren. Vi kommer sedan att studera både den historiska romance romanens framväxt och den moderna romance romanen med nedslag i 1970-tal, 1980-tal och 1990-talets chick lit. Kursen avslutas med 2000-talets utveckling av genren med nedslag i de senaste årens populära romance böcker.
