Overview
I femtio års tid har mänskligheten spanat efter signaler från utomjordiska civilisationer, och vid några tillfällen även skickat ut egna meddelanden i världsrymden. Den här kursen handlar om detta naturvetenskapliga sökande efter intelligent liv bortom jorden. Frågor som behandlas inkluderar: Hur går sökandet till? Hur utformas de meddelanden vi sänder? Betyder bristen på kontakt att vi är ensamma i Vintergatan, eller snarare att vi söker på fel sätt? Kan man resa mellan stjärnorna? Varför godtas inte UFO-rapporter som bevis på att rymdvarelser redan besöker oss? Kursen tar vid där <i>Om planeter och liv i universum</i> slutar, men kan även läsas helt fristående.
