<p>How is the smart city governed? How should it be governed? This course gives you knowledge of AI, data and ethics and governance in urban environments. You will learn to analyse how technology shapes society and the values that guide its development.</p><p>The smart city is where technology and society intersect. This course provides a deeper understanding of how data and AI are used by various actors in urban contexts and the consequences of their application, especially for individuals.</p><p>You will learn to analyse governance issues related to ethics, values and legislation, and how these are balanced against technological possibilities.</p><p>The course is explicitly interdisciplinary, combining social science perspectives with technical insights. Its aim is to equip you with tools to understand and critically assess how technology interacts with society and influences urban governance. </p><p>The course can be taken as a stand-alone option and is ideal for students interested in AI, digitalisation, ethics and sustainable urban development.</p>
