Overview
I kursen ges en introduktion om samhälleliga och individuella aspekter på alkohol- och narkotikaproblem samt även olika former av spelproblem. Kursen inleds med att användning av alkohol och narkotika sätts in i ett samhälleligt, kulturellt och historiskt sammanhang. Därefter behandlas egenskaper hos beroendeframkallande substanser och dess effekter samt sociala, biologiska och psykiska konsekvenser. Ett viktigt område är att identifiera skillnader i alkohol- och narkotikaanvändning mellan olika grupper utifrån, kultur, kön och ålder samt att problematisera vilka konsekvenser dessa skillnader kan få när det gäller prevention och lämpliga socialpedagogiska insatser på individ-, grupp och samhällsnivå. Slutligen behandlas även alkohol- och narkotikaproblem ur anhörigas perspektiv. Genomgående relateras kursinnehållet till socialpedagogiskt arbete samt till aktuell vetenskaplig forskning och samhällsdebatt.
