Kursen tar upp handfasta frågor kring samhällsplaneringens olika dimensioner. Exempel tas från konkreta samhällsbyggnadsprojekt på olika nivåer och ger en fördjupning i planeringsteori och samhällsplaneringens lagreglerade verksamhet. Planeringens sociala aspekter diskuteras genom fokus på medborgarinflytande och universell utformning, och i detta läggs särskild uppmärksamhet vid jämställdhets-, mångfalds- och tillgänglighetsfrågor. Under kursen berörs också olika metoder och hjälpmedel vid planering så som skissteknik och dataprogram för kartframställning.
