Kursen behandlar funktion och teknisk uppbyggnad av sociala medier som t.ex. Facebook, Flickr och YouTube. Med hjälp av funktionalitet i dessa och genom att använda befintliga API:er byggs prototyper på nya medier. I kursen behandlas även sociala och affärsmässiga aspekter på nya medier. För tillträde till kursen krävs minst 60 hp avklarade kurser inom huvudområdet Medieteknik eller minst två års sammanlagda studier som skall innefatta Databasteknik och webbaserade system, 7.5 hp (5TF048) eller Databasteknik, 7.5 hp (5DV120) eller motsvarande kunskaper.
