I kursen behandlas ämneskunskaper i samhällskunskap, geografi, historia respektive religionskunskap som är relevanta för undervisning i årskurs 1-3 kopplat till respektive ämnes kursplan och tillhörande kommentarmaterial samt till olika läromedel i SO-ämnena. Vidare behandlas ämnesdidaktiska överväganden som grund för att resonera om möjligheter och problem med att undervisa i respektive SO-ämne. Innehållet delas upp så att varje SO-ämne läses separat.
