<p>What role does civil society play in social work and welfare? How do civil society organizations differ from public actors and the market? This course provides you with increased knowledge about voluntary social work, its conditions, and prerequisites. </p><p>The course is taught in English and focuses on the roles and functions of non-profit organizations in society. Civil society organizes various welfare services, develops communities, and often has a critical voice that aims to create change and innovation in society. The course provides you with deeper knowledge about social work in civil society. You will learn to understand the roles and functions of different organizations and actors at local, national, and global levels. </p>
