Kursen ger dig grundläggande insikter i sociologins och socialpsykologins olika forskningsproblem samt ger dig förmågan att använda dess olika teorier och metoder. Sociologin studerar och analyserar framförallt samhället, dess strukturer, processer och sociala relationer medan socialpsykologin huvudsakligen fokuserar på människan som social varelse. Inom kursen studeras hur moderna identiteter, livsstilar och kulturer formas och utvecklas. Efter kursen kan du gå vidare till fördjupade studier i Sociologi B eller Socialpsykologi B. Samläsning sker med Sociologi med inriktning mot arbetsliv, organisation och personal A under första halvan av terminen.
