<p>Already have a one-year master’s degree in sociology and want to take the next step? This course gives you the opportunity to deepen your knowledge and complete a thesis that contributes to academic discussions.</p><p>This course is intended for students who have completed a one-year master’s degree or a thesis at that level in sociology. You will write an independent thesis in which you formulate your own research question, examine current research and apply relevant theories and methods. The work should demonstrate that you can think critically, work independently and communicate your results clearly. </p><p>At the final seminar, you present your thesis and provide constructive feedback on another student’s work. </p>

Entry requirements
Admission to the course requires Bachelor's degree in sociology or equivalent and SOCM15, Sociology: Master (two years) Thesis, 15 credits. Additionally, 30 second-cycle credits in sociological theory or the equivalent, as well as 30 second-cycle credits in research methodology and/or theory of knowledge (of which at least 15 credits at advanced level) are required.
