Overview
The course deals with the application of methods of engineering economics in the appraisal /evaluation and asset management of solar energy systems and their comparison with other energy options. The effects of different policy, regulatory and other support measures (such as feed in tariffs, renewable purchase obligation, soft loan, capital subsidy or viability gap funding) on the financial attractiveness of investments on solar energy systems are examined. Methods of quantifying the sustainability of investments in solar energy systems are also discussed.
