Overview
Under kursen tas grundläggande begrepp inom samhällsplanering med fokus på hållbar utveckling, teoribildning och metoder upp i relation till turism som fenomen och samhällsplaneringens organisation och funktion inom strategisk turismutveckling. Studenten ges därigenom redskap för att planera för hållbar turism- och platsutveckling. Exempel på hållbar planering för turism ges ur både ett nationellt och internationellt perspektiv. Under kursen ges studenten verktyg för att analysera begreppet hållbar turism och dess ekonomiska, sociokulturella, politiska och miljömässiga dimensioner relaterat till turismens positiva och negativa effekter. Vidare diskuteras kris- och katastrofhantering, säkerhet och risker inom turism. Kursen omfattar obligatoriska studiebesök där studenten ges möjlighet att möta samhällsplaneringens grunder i praktiken. Eventuella kostnader för kost och logi betalas av studenten.
