I kursen behandlas planering, genomförande och dokumentation av ett självständigt vetenskapligt arbete inom specialpedagogik, med stöd av kontinuerlig handledning. Dessutom ingår ett uppsatsseminarium, där studenten försvarar sitt eget examensarbete och opponerar på annan students examensarbete. Handledning erbjuds under den tid kursen pågår. Vid omregistrering en senare termin erbjuds handledning i mån av plats och resurser.

75 hp på avancerad nivå, varav - metodkurs omfattande minst 15 hp, - kurser i specialpedagogik omfattande minst 45 hp, inklusive magisteruppsats i specialpedagogik omfattande 15 hp. Motsvarandebedömning kan göras.
