I kursen behandlas aktuell vetenskaplig kunskap kring planering, genomförande och utvärdering av kondition- och uthållighetsträning för såväl elit som motionär i olika åldrar. Kursens inleds med fysiologiska grunder kring akuta och långvariga anpassningar som sker i kroppen i samband med olika former av kondition- och uthållighetsträning. Utifrån dessa förutsättningar behandlas olika metoder för kondition- och uthållighetsträning. Under kursen diskuteras även betydelsen av adekvat kost och återhämtning för optimal träningseffekt.
