Kursen behandlar området idrottsmedicin utifrån tränarens perspektiv. Grundläggande teoretisk och praktisk kunskap om förebyggande, omhändertagande och rehabilitering av ett urval av idrottsrelaterade skador behandlas. Ergogena medel belyses, diskuteras och problematiseras utifrån olika aspekter. Vidare problematiseras tränarens roll i relation till andra professioner inom området idrottsmedicin när det gäller omhändertagandet och rehabiliteringen av olika idrottsskador för att möjliggöra ett hållbart idrottande med minskad risk för återfall i tidigare skada.
