In this course, you’ll explore Big Data and learn statistical methods that help solve real-world business challenges.</p><p>Business analytics is about using data to make smart, evidence-based decisions. This course is ideal if you have basic knowledge of statistics and want to learn practical methods for analysing data. You’ll gain tools to understand and apply data mining and business analytics in strategic decision-making.</p><p>The course focuses on how to build and use models to analyse large datasets. You’ll learn methods such as exploratory data analysis, visualisation, classification, prediction and clustering. We begin with data visualisation to help uncover patterns, then move on to regression models and hypothesis testing using real-world examples. Later, you’ll explore advanced techniques like discriminant analysis and clustering methods. You’ll work with different types of data - including categorical data, time series and networks - and learn the basics of building suitable models. All analysis is carried out using the statistical software R.</p>
