Overview
<p>After having completed the course, the student shall have gained deeper knowledge about stem cell types, some commonly used biomaterials, and examples (potential) clinical applications of regenerative medicine approaches. The course comprises studies related to regenerative medicine on various types of stem cells in human body, basic biomaterials, host - graft interaction with the focus on immune- and infectious issues, and technologies used for tracking of implanted stem cells and their derivatives. Regulatory aspects of regenerative medicine, especially those related to transfer of experimental therapies from lab to the clinic will be included as well.</p>

165 ECTS credits passed in a major subject area with relevance for biomedical sciences, equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen with at least 90ECTS credits in the following subjects: -biochemistry -cell biology -molecular biology -genetics -gene technology -microbiology -physiology -immunology -histology -anatomy -pathology or similar. English corresponding to the level of English in Swedish upper secondary education (Engelska 6 or Engelska nivå 2). Exemption from Swedish.
