Kursen fokuserar på anatomi och kirurgisk teknik som är relevant för ST-utbildningen i kirurgi och är tänkt att fungera som en introduktion och förberedelse för den öppna bukkirurgi och traumakirurgi som ingår i denna specialistutbildning. Undervisning och träning syftar till att studenterna ska lära sig att förklara anatomins betydelse och tillämpning för grundläggande bukkirurgi och akut traumakirurgi, frilägga och identifiera relevanta anatomiska strukturer på mänskliga preparat och tillämpa en del basal kirurgisk teknik.

Allmän behörighet: 180 hp på grundnivå. Särskild behörighet: Kurserna i anatomi,patologi, konsultationskunskap, infektionsmedicin och internmedicin vid läkarprogrammet i Göteborg eller motsvarande kunskaper.
