Swedish for Foreign Students – Level B1:1, Distance Course

<p>This is an online beginner's Swedish course which includes pronunciation exercises, reading, oral training, basic Swedish grammar and short writing exercises. After having completed the course, you should have basic knowledge of Swedish – part 1 of B1 in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.</p><p>We meet approximately once a week in a virtual classroom - a Zoom-room. Before each Zoom-session you need to work with the corresponding course book chapter on your own using a Step-by-Step guide and prepare the assignments listed in the guide. The Step-by-Step guides, the pre-recorded material and all other material you need throughout the course (except the course books and the corresponding audio files) are available in the Linköping University learning platform Lisam (lisam.liu.se). The course books used are Rivstart B1/B2 - Textbook, third edition (ISBN: 9789127466852) and Exercise book, third edition (ISBN: 9789127466869).</p><p>There are several Zoom lessons where we study chapters in the course literature. It is not mandatory to attend the lessons but we strongly recommend attendence in order to pass the course. There you also have the chance to ask questions and test your knowledge together with other students and a teacher. There are also oral and written mandatory tasks related to the teaching content that you must complete. The course ends with an oral and a written examination, both of which are done online.</p><p>In order to take part in the course you must have a computer with a stable internet connection, a headset (preferably USB) and a web cam so you can communicate with sound and image.&nbsp;</p><p>The written exam is done in Inspera. To take an exam in Inspera you must have either a Windows computer or a Mac computer. Chromebooks and Linux computers do not work with Inspera.
