Overview
I kursen studeras det svenska språkets historia med fokus på släktskapsförhållanden, språkförändringar och standardiseringsprocesser. Språkförändringarna behandlas utifrån språkhistorisk periodindelning, relateras till generella språkförändringsprocesser och sätts in i sina historiska sammanhang. Standardiseringsprocesser behandlas med fokus på svenska skriftspråkets standardisering, det vill säga urval, kodifiering, utvidgning och implementering. Historiska samband mellan språk och makt problematiseras. Dialekter och talspråk behandlas översiktligt.
