Overview
<p>Explore how English-language fiction can be used in teaching. In this course, you read texts about education and the role of the teacher, and discuss how literature can enhance language teaching.</p><p>In this course, you work with English-language fiction dealing with education, teaching and the role of the teacher. You read both fictional texts and short theoretical texts that introduce central concepts within literary didactics, narrative ethics and reader-response theory. </p><p>You practise reading, understanding and discussing the texts in English. You explore questions regarding how education is portrayed, what values are expressed, and how literature can be used as a tool for learning. You also practise identifying cultural perspectives on education and reflect on ethical dilemmas that may arise in teaching contexts. </p><p>During the course, you use different models for working with literature in language teaching and analyse connections between works of fiction from various theoretical perspectives. You compare different interpretations of the same text and reflect on how literature can contribute to emotional awareness and resilience.</p>
