Overview
Vilka var de förhistoriska kulturerna i Sydamerika? Vilka var likheterna i deras historia och kultur och hur skiljde de sig åt? Hur livnärde människorna i de olika kulturerna sig? Hur såg deras samhällsstruktur, städer, byggnader och landsbygd ut? Vilken religion hade de och vilken betydelse hade den i deras vardag? Vilken var relationen mellan samhälle och miljö? Med de frågorna som utgångspunkt syftar kursen till att ge en bred orientering om de förhistoriska kulturernas arkeologi, övergripande samhällsförändringar och människors livsvillkor fram till tiden för kontakten med européerna runt 1500. Kursen ger en övergripande introduktion till kulturutvecklingen i Sydamerika, och gör därefter en djupdykning i Andernas och Amazonas förhistoria.
