Overview
Vilken betydelse har slaveriet haft i olika samhällssystem och hur har olika former för ofri arbetskraft varit avgörande för resursfördelning och maktrelationer globalt och i olika tider? Syftet med denna kurs är att ge fördjupade kunskaper om slaveriets betydelse och variationer i globalhistoriskt perspektiv. Slaveriet som begrepp kommer att analyseras och problematiseras. Kursen har ett långt tidsperspektiv och tar upp slaveri från förmodern till senmodern tid. Centrala begrepp och teorier i forskningen om global historisk utveckling och maktförhållanden problematiseras liksom teorier om slaveri, ofrihet och rättigheter och vad detta har inneburit för global social utveckling och hållbarhet.

Entry requirements
För tillträde till kursen krävs 90 högskolepoäng inklusive ett självständigt arbete om minst 15 högskolepoäng i ett humanistiskt eller samhällsvetenskapligt ämne eller motsvarande.
