I kursen studeras perioperativ omvårdnad med utgångspunkt i den modell för omvårdnad som utvecklats vid institutionen för omvårdnad, Umeå universitet. I kursen studeras även bedömning, genomförande och utvärdering av perioperativa omvårdnadsåtgärder, omvårdnadsprocessen, etik, teamarbete, säkervård, infektionsprevention, instrumentering, operationsteknik och preparathantering.
