Dopet och nattvarden är centrala uttryck för kyrkans och församlingens liv och lära. Det tydliggörs bland annat genom deras ställning som sakrament i många av världens kyrkor. Kursen fokuserar på teologiska föreställningar som rör dop och nattvard i historia och nutid. Kursen tematiserar också ekumeniska frågor och perspektiv i förhållande till dop och nattvard med ett särskilt fokus på Equmeniakyrkan. Litteraturstudier varvas med enklare fältstudier i församlingsmiljöer.
