Kursen behandlar centrala teoretiska perspektiv och hur de har tillämpats i samtida och historisk etnologisk och folkloristisk forskning. Genom övningsuppgifter och läsning av etnologiska studier fördjupas en vetenskaplig förståelse av sambanden mellan teori, material och analys. Deltagarna övar sig även i att identifiera hur olika vetenskapliga utgångspunkter kan leda till skiftande kunskapsresultat. Litteratururval och diskussioner samspelar dynamiskt med det kommande uppsatsprojektet. **Distanskursens upplägg:** Kursen använder Uppsala universitets lärplattform Studium och videokonferensverktyget Zoom. Undervisningen består av föreläsningar via videolänk samt chatt. Lärarstöd sker via e-post, diskussionsforum, chattar, etc. Kursen har inga fysiska träffar
