Thesis 1 - Music education

Students formulate a problem on the basis of their own musical performance process and draw up a plan for the assignment, carry out the project and present their results orally, in writing, and in performance. The course includes the following: - formulating a problem, purpose, and questions - searching for and selecting relevant literature and other materials - planning the work process and implementation of the project as well as the choice, planning, and description of adequate methods of documentation, such as video recordings and log books - carrying out the project, including collecting, processing, and analysing empirical data - ethical aspects - presenting and discussing the project, including results and conclusions - presenting the project in a written thesis as well as orally and in performance, for instance in the form of an artistic musical performance, a poster presentation, a video documentation, and/or other relevant form of presentation - performance in a final seminar, including group discussion and peer review
