Traffic Simulation

<p>Do you want to understand how traffic simulation is used to analyse and evaluate traffic systems? This course provides an in-depth study of traffic simulation and traffic modelling, and how models are developed and applied in practice. </p><p>The course is suitable for students who want to understand how traffic simulation is used in, for example, traffic investigations and forecasts. It provides an in-depth study of traffic simulation and traffic modelling, both regarding the underlying theories and how these are applied to create models adapted to current needs. </p><p>You will gain knowledge of different types of models, their approaches, principles and areas of application. The course also covers differences between theories, limitations of models, and how stochasticity and uncertainty are handled in simulation models. </p><p>You will develop an understanding of when traffic simulation is an appropriate tool, which input data are important depending on the application, and which output is relevant to analyse. </p><p>A central part of the course is a traffic simulation project in which you use established software for modelling and simulation.
