Inom kursen studeras hur allmänna funktioner kan uttryckas med oändliga summor av enklare trigonometriska funktioner. Kursen behandlar Fourierserier, Fouriertransformen och Laplacetransformen och deras tillämpning på ordinära och partiella differentialekvationer. Många av de begrepp som ingår i kursen behandlas även i Fourieranalys men denna kurs har mer fokus på tillämpningar.
