Overview
The course is closely related to subject-specific education and the future professional role of teachers. The components focused on teaching include analysis of the significance of steering documents for teaching sustainable development and an overview of educational theory in the area. The course provides a holistic understanding of sustainability issues from social, ecological, and economic perspectives, which also means that examining the role of different social actors in the work for sustainable development is a central part. Perspectives of democracy, justice, and gender equality are covered, as well as global and local issues of survival. These questions are then related to the use of natural resources and to lifestyle aspects. The course includes lectures, seminars, and hand-in assignments.
