Overview
Moment 1, teori (6,5 hp): Kursen ger en introduktion till flervariabelanalys och differentialekvationer. Inom flervariabelanalys studeras bland annat begreppen partiell derivata, tangentplan, gradient, och dubbelintegral, samt några enkla tillämpningar av dessa i form av optimeringsproblem och volymberäkningar. Kursen behandlar ordinära differentialekvationer av första ordningen och linjära ekvationer av andra ordningen. Ett genomgående tema i detta sammanhang är kopplingen mellan modeller och differentialekvationer. Vidare studeras enklare system av linjära differentialekvationer. Både numeriska och analytiska lösningsmetoder ingår. Vidare studeras Laplacetransformer, och deras tillämpning på lösning av differentialekvationer. Kursen ger också en introduktion till lösning av partiella differentialekvationer genom metoden med separation av variabler. Moment 2, datorlaboration (1 hp).
