Overview
I kursen behandlas samhällsteorier som kan användas för att analysera utbildning. Vidare behandlas och integreras olika metodologiska angreppssätt som kan skapa fördjupad förståelse av utbildningskontexter. Därtill granskas utbildningsvetenskaplig forskning utifrån forskningsetisk synvinkel. Moment 1: Samhällsteorier och teoriimpregnerad analys (4,5 hp) Momentet behandlar användningen av samhällsteorier för teoriimpregnerad analys av utbildningsvetenskapliga frågor. Moment 2: Metodologiska överväganden (4,5 hp) Momentet behandlar komplexa samband mellan samhällsteorier, metodologiska ansatser och utbildningsvetenskaplig forskning. Moment 3: Pilotstudie och VFU (6 hp) Momentet innehåller en pilotstudie som bygger på paper som skrivs i moment 1 och 2. I fokus för pilotstudien står insamling av ett empiriskt material, bearbetning av kvalitativa och kvantitativa data samt teoriimpregnerad analys. I momentet ingår VFU i form av empiriinsamling motsvarande 1 hp.

A minimum of at least 180 credits including 60 credits in scientifically relevant areas for educational science samt minst 45 hp på avancerad nivå in scientifically relevant areas for educational science or health science inklusive självständigt arbete på 15 hp på avancerad nivå och kursen Educational Research Approach – The Philosophy of Science and Methodology 15 credits or equivalent.
