You’ll also compare different methods and see which ones work best in different situations.</p><h2>About the Course</h2> <p>You’ll learn the basics of sampling methodology - that is, how to select samples in surveys. This is a key part of statistics, used to draw conclusions about large groups without having to study every individual. It saves time, money, and resources. These methods are used in everything from official statistics and research to marketing and medicine. This couse has a particular focus on opinon polling and market research. The course gives you the tools to plan, carry out, and analyse sample surveys - skills that are valuable in many careers.</p> <h2>Course Content</h2> <p>The course covers:</p> <ul> <li>Simple random, stratified, and systematic sampling</li> <li>Cluster and multistage sampling</li> <li>Ratio and regression estimation</li> <li>Sampling from rare populations</li> <li>Practical aspects of surveys, such as non-response and how to mitigate it</li> </ul> <h2>Teaching</h2> <p>Teaching includes lectures, calculation exercises, and computer-based sessions.
